What we supply

Ground mount solar structures are the fixed-tilt steel frames that carry PV modules on open land: posts, rafters, purlins and bracing on driven piles, ground screws or concrete foundations. KLY supplies the structure as a documented package — configured to the array layout, soil conditions and wind and snow actions, for utility-scale and commercial ground arrays.

A ground array is a repeating structure, so small decisions multiply: the tilt angle sets the row spacing, the soil report sets the foundation type, and the wind zone sets the post spacing and member sizes. Getting the standard details right once, then repeating them accurately across thousands of posts, is what makes a ground mount package economical.

KLY supplies fixed-tilt ranges in single-post and double-post configurations, manufactured through EN 1090-certified factories and delivered in sequenced loads that match the civils and installation programme.

Selected from the soil survey and site constraints, with the interface agreed before manufacture:

Driven steel piles

Galvanised steel profiles driven directly into the ground — fast and economical where soil conditions allow, with pull-out testing to confirm design values.

Screwed steel foundations with minimal ground disruption — suited to variable soils and sites where removability or speed matters.

Precast concrete (PHC) piles

Precast concrete pile foundations for sites needing higher capacity or specific ground conditions — supplied with the matching post interface.

Concrete foundations

Pad or strip foundations for sites where driven or screwed options are unsuitable — including ballasted above-ground frames where penetration is not permitted.

Drawings are welcome but not required to start. Whatever you have of the following is enough for a first quotation:

  • Site layout or array drawings — or the site location to start
  • Target capacity (MWp) or module count and module dimensions
  • Soil or geotechnical report, if available
  • Wind zone or site location for Eurocode actions
  • Preferred foundation type, if already decided
  • Required delivery window and site access constraints

Standards, documentation & supply

Structures are designed to Eurocode wind and snow actions and manufactured through EN 1090-certified factories, with capability up to EXC4 — hot-dip galvanised steel, zinc-magnesium or aluminium rails and stainless fixings. The document pack is defined at quotation, and KLY acts as principal UK importer for imported packages with DDP delivery where agreed.
