Solar Roof Mounting Systems

Solar Roof Mounting Systems supplied by KLY Infra

Overview

What we supply

Solar roof mounting systems are the rails, clamps, mini-rails, ballast trays and tilt frames that fix PV modules to a roof. KLY supplies standard ranges for trapezoidal metal roofs, standing seam roofs, tile roofs and flat roofs — ballasted or attached — configured to the roof build-up, wind uplift and module choice, and delivered as one documented package.

The right mounting route depends on the roof, not the panels. A trapezoidal sheet takes short mini-rails or full rails fixed at the crest; a standing seam roof takes non-penetrative clamps that preserve the membrane warranty; a flat membrane roof usually takes an aerodynamic ballasted system with no penetrations at all.

KLY supplies the mounting structure as a defined package: the correct system for each roof zone, layout drawings where required, wind-uplift design to Eurocode actions, and delivery sequenced to the installer's programme.

Specifications

Standard roof mounting ranges

Each range is configured to the roof build-up, wind zone and module format. These are the standard starting points, not limits:

Roof typeAttachmentModule tiltTypical build-up
Trapezoidal metal roofCrest fixings or mini-railsRoof-parallelAluminium or ZM-steel mini-rails / full rails with module clamps
Standing seam roofNon-penetrative seam clampsRoof-parallelSeam clamps and rails — no membrane penetration
Flat roof — ballastedBallast, no penetration5° – 15°Aerodynamic ballast trays, south-facing or east-west
Flat roof — attachedAnchored to structure5° – 15°Tilted frames fixed to slab or steel with load spread

Standard ranges shown — module orientation, tilt and layout are configured per project from the roof drawings and wind calculations.

To quote

What to send for a quotation

Drawings are welcome but not required to start. Whatever you have of the following is enough for a first quotation:

  • Roof plan or drawings — or the building address to start
  • Roof type and build-up (trapezoidal, standing seam, membrane) if known
  • Module make and dimensions, or target kWp
  • Site location for wind and snow actions
  • Any roof warranty conditions that restrict penetrations
  • Required delivery window and site access constraints

Supply

Standards, documentation & supply

Structures are designed to Eurocode wind and snow actions and manufactured through EN 1090-certified factories, with capability up to EXC4 — hot-dip galvanised steel, zinc-magnesium or aluminium rails and stainless fixings. The document pack is defined at quotation, and KLY acts as principal UK importer for imported packages with DDP delivery where agreed.

See how we work for the full process and document pack, or the other solar mounting systems. These ranges are examples, not limits — if your requirement isn't covered, send it through and KLY will confirm the route.

FAQ

Roof Mount questions

Trapezoidal metal roofs, standing seam roofs, tile roofs and flat roofs — ballasted or attached. Other roof types can be discussed per project. The attachment method is selected to suit the roof build-up and any membrane or warranty conditions.

Yes. Standing seam roofs take non-penetrative seam clamps, and flat membrane roofs take ballasted systems with no fixings through the roof. Where penetrations are unavoidable, the fixing schedule and weathering details are defined before manufacture.

The structural adequacy of the existing roof remains with the building owner's engineer. KLY provides the mounting system loads and ballast plans so that check can be made, and can coordinate engineering support where required.

The package covers the mounting structure and routing provisions. PV modules, inverters and electrical works are supplied by your installer or EPC — and if your requirement spans wider than the structure, ask: scope is agreed per project.

Yes. Multi-site and framework supply runs through the same route as a single roof — same specification, same document pack, every delivery, with deliveries phased to the installation programme.
