Overview
What they do
Electrical buildings are defined by what has to get in, stay cool and be replaced. Transformer mass and replacement routes set the door and opening sizes; switchgear footprints and cable entries set the internal layout; ventilation and acoustic conditions set the louvres and envelope.
Network operators and asset owners usually specify these requirements up front, so the building becomes a configuration exercise against a known standard — which is exactly what a pre-engineered system is for.

Drawings are welcome but not required to start. Whatever you have of the following is enough for a first quotation:

- —Compound or site layout showing the building position
- —The asset owner's or network operator's building specification, if issued
- —Ventilation, acoustic or bunding requirements

Certification & documentation
Structural steelwork is manufactured under EN 1090 through qualified production partners, with the execution class set per project and certification held by the production partner. Every building is supplied with a project document pack:

- —CE / UKCA marking documentation
- —Material test certificates (EN 10204 3.1)
- —Welding procedure and welder qualification records
- —Inspection and dimensional check reports
- —Galvanising or coating certificates

KLY provides the complete building, from requirement to delivery: specification, system configuration, engineering, documentation and project delivery. Manufacture is through qualified production partners under EN 1090, and installation is completed by your appointed contractor.

Electrical buildings — common questions
Yes. Where the asset owner or network operator has issued a building specification, that document becomes the basis of the configuration — clearances, access, ventilation, finishes and documentation are all set against it.
Replacement routes are designed in from the start: removable panels, oversized doors or demountable sections are configured so the equipment can be extracted and replaced without dismantling the building.
Louvre positions and sizes are configured from the equipment's heat rejection and the ventilation strategy defined for the project. KLY builds the requirement into the building; the performance criteria come from the project's electrical and mechanical designers.
Structural steelwork is manufactured under EN 1090 through qualified production partners, with the execution class set per project and certification held by the production partner. Material certificates, weld and inspection records, coating certificates and drawings are compiled into one document pack.
KLY delivers the building configured around the equipment it houses. Transformers, switchgear, protection, cabling and commissioning are supplied and installed by your appointed contractors. If your requirement spans wider, ask: scope is agreed per project.
